In 1988 kwam hij naar Nederland en kreeg een baan als schoonmaker in een ondertitelingsbedrijf. Later werd hij een clapperloader en focuspuller. In 1993 maakte hij zijn eerste korte film. In 1998 ging hij naar het Maurits Binger Instituut en begon hij als schrijver, regisseur, cowriter, scriptdoctor en scriptvertaler te werken.
